  • 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (28 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans red kidney beans (drained)
  • 2 cups broth (beef or vegetable)

Instructions

  1. In a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add the diced onions and cook until soft. Stir in salt, cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, and tomato paste; cook for a few minutes.
  3. Add diced tomatoes and tomato sauce; bring to a simmer.
  4. Return the browned beef to the pot along with drained kidney beans and broth. Mix well.
  5. Allow to simmer for about 15–20 minutes before serving.
