  • 5 Granny Smith apples (peeled and thinly sliced)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter (cubed)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup rolled oats
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine apple slices, lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, and melted butter until well mixed.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, oats, cinnamon, and walnuts. Add cold butter cubes and rub until crumbly.
  4. Spread the apple mixture evenly in the baking dish and sprinkle the crumble topping over it.
  5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until golden brown and apples are tender.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm with vanilla ice cream.
