Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract; whip until smooth.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine cooled coffee with almond extract mixed with water.
  3. Quickly dip ladyfingers in the coffee mixture and line the bottom of a 9×9-inch dish.
  4. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers evenly.
  5. Spoon half of the cherry preserves and fresh cherries over the cream layer.
  6. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers, remaining cream, and cherry mixture.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  8. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and garnish with fresh cherries.
